After visiting this site, Kevin Jordan from Faversham in Kent got in touch with me about a finch trap that he owns.
Regarding your comments as to the age of the finch trap in your photos, saying it is probably 50 to 70 years old. I have a trap which is identical only it has a call bird section on the same level as the trap compartment. I have had this for 45 years and when I got it from a pensioner who was about 90, the trap looked as old then as the one in the photo, and I think the old chap had had it for most of his life, so I reckon that trap is around 110 years old.
The mechanism and perch trigger are very similar to trap 100012
