Description
This choker mouse trap is a 2-hole wire-set trap, with a bait hook mounted in each hole. Each spring is held down by a wire rod which is lightly set under the loop at the top of the bait hook. The lower portion of each hole is cut away to facilitate baiting. The softwood block is stained red and measures 4¼” x 2¾” x 1¾”. A catalogue issued by B S End & Co, Southwark, London in 1887 offered a range of wire-set ‘Red Irish Traps’ and this is probably one of them.
