Description
Prong rat trap. In this design the striker is held in the set position by a small catch that is linked to the circular bait tray. When a rat, lured by the bait, treads on the bait tray the catch releases the striker with lethal effect. Made entirely of metal, the base and bait tray are painted a dark green. Patent No. 600323 (1945) GB by William Carpenter of Birkenhead. Also patent No. 620881 (1947) GB by Allcock Products Ltd., of Birkenhead, the manufacturers. It measures 7¾” x 3¾” x 1¼” and weighs 10ozs. c. 1950.
