Description
This cast iron vintage mole trap has had a slight and very well done repair on one of the catching prongs – notice the bright spot in the photograph. Cast iron is notoriously brittle and this trap must have been dropped at some point in it’s life.
In this design the spring is made of spring steel strip in the shape of an inverted U. The serrated jaws are held apart by a loose setting piece (attached).
The trap is stamped W B & Co. Maker: William Burgess & Co. of Malvern Wells. c.1910.
