Description

Sawyer Vermin Trap

The Sawyer Vermin Trap was invented in the 1960′s by Frank Sawyer, a Hampshire riverkeeper who made a significant contribution to trap design during this period.
Designed to fit inside a tunnel for catching small ground vermin.  The trap measures 5 x 4 1/4 inches and were originally supplied with a chain and ring.
These traps were only sold for a short time and are hard to find.  Approved for use by the Humane Trap Committee in 1966 and first manufactured by Capjon Pressings Co., Pewsey, Wiltshire.
Also known to have been manufactured by, or under the authority of, James S. Low and Sons Ltd, Atholl Smithy, Atholl Street, Blairgowrie, Perthshire.
Out of production by March 1973.
