Description
A nice egg trap 9.5″ jaws and a long heavy chain. semicircular serrated jaws. Brass egg carrier and catch. Base frame stamped 24. No maker’s mark. For foxes, wolves, large birds, etc. Early 20th C. Action: Jaws are set in a horizontal position with one jaw secured beneath the catch that is held in place by the weight of an egg placed on the carrier. When an animal, for example, lifts the egg the catch is released and the jaws snap shut.
