This rare English trap ‘kingfisher trap’ was made for catching diminutive kingfishers by Victorian river keepers and was banned from use in England in 1904. It is known as the Dwarf trap due to its size and is sought after by collectors.
This very good example is unmarked and original, and displays beautifully and was made by John Marshall in Wednesfield.
The trap measures 2 3/4 inches at its widest point, and it has got 2 inch rounded jaws with teeth.
